Bangalore: Inspector Mohammed Rafi who was absconding since the past two days, has been arrested in the Frazer town molestation case on Friday July 18. He was charged with toning down the gravity of offence in the incident wherein a 22-year-old student was sexually assaulted in a car.
The Bangalore City Police had filed a criminal case against the inspector who has now been arrested by the Pulakeshinagar police and charged under Section 166 (A) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)
Rafi has been suspended for dereliction of duty and is being interrogated by the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Ulsoor sub- division) G B Manjunath.
Earlier, an FIR was filed against him at Pulakeshinagar police station.
