Dakshina Kannada reports 311 positive COVID cases, eight deaths in one day

Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada (DK) district on Friday, July 17, reported 311 COVID-19 positive cases and eight deaths.

Of the eight people who died, three are from the Mangaluru taluk and one each are from Sirsi (Uttara Kannada), Davanagere district, Sullia (DK), Belthangady (DK), and Bhatkal (UK).

Meanwhile, 115 people were discharged from the hospital today.

There are a total of 1,725 active cases in the district.

In some good news for the district, Muzrai Minister Kota Srinivas Pookary, who is also the district in-charge minister, held an emergency meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Dr Ashwathnarayan to discuss free treatment for COVID patients in government hospitals earlier in the evening.
