Minister Poojary holds emergency meet with DCM on free COVID treatment

kota dcm 17072020 02Mangaluru/Bengaluru: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, on Friday, July 17, held an emergency meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Ashwathnarayan on the issue of free treatment for COVID-19 patients at privates hospitals in the district.

The meeting was held at the Vikasa Soudha in Bengaluru in the wake of the increasing number of COVID cases in the district. During the meeting, The DCM interacted with District Commissioner Sindu B Roopesh, MLAs Vedavas Kamath, Harish Punja, U T Khader, and District Health Officers via video conferencing.

After the meeting, on the request of Minister Poojary, the DCM agreed to sanction 25,000 Rapid antigen test kits to the district on an urgent basis. Also, he agreed to provide 15 ambulances to the district.

Arrangements will also be made for COVID-19 patients to receive treatment as soon as they approach the nearest government hospital and, if necessary, the government will pay for the cost of treatment.

Henceforth, COVID patients and those who are being tested for the disease need not worry about anything, the DCM assured and asked the DC to take action immediately.

Minister Poojary thanked Chief Minister B S Yediurappa and the DCM for responding to the request of Dakshina Kannada’s people. This meeting and its outcome will solve the problems of the people of the district, he added.
