Abu Dhabi: The UAE Humanitarian Ship departed for the Gaza Strip on Saturday as part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, carrying 7,200 tonnes of vital relief materials aimed at addressing the urgent needs of civilians affected by the ongoing crisis. The large-scale humanitarian initiative underscores the UAE’s steadfast commitment to global relief efforts and its enduring solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Massive relief shipment for Gaza’s population

According to official reports, the shipment comprises 4,680 tonnes of essential food supplies, 2,160 tonnes of shelter materials, including tents and winter clothing, and 360 tonnes of medical supplies. Additionally, four large water tanks form part of the consignment to address the growing scarcity of clean water in Gaza.

The UAE’s humanitarian convoy represents a comprehensive response to the dire situation in Gaza, where millions of residents are facing shortages of food, medical resources, and basic necessities amid continuing hostilities. Officials noted that the materials have been carefully prioritised to meet daily survival needs, including nutrition, hygiene, and shelter, as temperatures begin to drop ahead of winter.

In line with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s directives

The humanitarian mission has been launched under the directives of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who has consistently emphasised that humanitarian work remains a central pillar of the UAE’s foreign policy. The operation reflects his vision to ensure continuous and coordinated relief support to affected populations, especially in conflict zones.

“This initiative embodies the values of solidarity and swift humanitarian response that define the UAE’s approach to global crises,” said a spokesperson from the Emirates Red Crescent, one of the organisations participating in the mission.

Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, led by the UAE’s Joint Operations Command, has brought together multiple humanitarian and charitable entities under a unified framework to ensure efficiency in aid delivery.

Coordination among UAE humanitarian agencies

The UAE Red Crescent, Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, and Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation are among the key organisations coordinating efforts under the operation. Together, they are ensuring that the relief consignment reaches distribution centres and medical facilities across Gaza as quickly as possible once the ship docks.

Humanitarian officials noted that this shipment follows several earlier relief initiatives by the UAE since the onset of the Gaza crisis. Previous aid missions have included airlifts of food, medicine, and field hospital equipment.

The continued dispatch of aid is part of the UAE’s larger humanitarian diplomacy, which positions the country among the leading contributors to international relief operations.

UAE’s humanitarian commitment recognised globally

Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 exemplifies the UAE’s proactive and compassionate response model, which has earned the nation recognition from global humanitarian organisations. The initiative not only supports the immediate needs of Gaza’s residents but also strengthens the UAE’s role as a regional leader in humanitarian aid and crisis management.

Officials added that the operation aligns with the UAE’s broader objective of promoting stability and reducing suffering in conflict-affected regions through consistent, non-political humanitarian assistance.

A global example of compassion and swift response

The UAE’s latest relief mission is expected to have a significant impact on alleviating the humanitarian situation in Gaza, where shortages of basic supplies have reached critical levels. The aid ship, with its multi-category consignment, represents more than material support—it reflects the UAE’s longstanding philosophy of humanitarian action rooted in compassion, solidarity, and global responsibility.

As the vessel continues its journey, the mission stands as a testament to the UAE’s commitment to global peace and its readiness to respond swiftly to human suffering, irrespective of geography or politics.
