Shanghai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today met with top Chinese CEOs and addressed the India-China Business Forum in Shanghai. India and China have signed 21 agreements worth $22 billion.

The Prime Minister addressed the Indian Community in a wrap-up of this three-day, he said, “The time is changing at a fast pace. Nobody would have wondered, that in China, so many Indian citizens will be living a peaceful, happy life.”

Talking about him becoming a PM, Modi said, “The criticism was correct but the doubt has been proved wrong. No one would have made be prime minister by looking at my bio-data, but, I had said that I will not leave any stone unturned with my hard work, said an optimistic Modi.

I have come here today to ask for your blessings that the steps we have taken for the development of the country be successful. I want you to bless me with your wishes that I do not make any such mistake that harms the interest of my country.

Moreover he said that this is the first time a majority government has come after thirty years. That’s why no one took us seriously earlier. I think the most unique opportunity I’ve had on this trip was to meet the youth of China in two universities.

People in China are eager to know about India. You (Indians in China) are the best people to take India to Chinese citizens. Encourage five Chinese nationals to come visit India: PM’s message to expats in Shanghai. India’s tourism will grow but more than that China’s people will have a new perspective of understanding India, he added.

Earlier Modi said in a tweet from Shanghai, that, “The people’s faith in government has increased and the world’s optimism about India and our growth is at an all-time high,”

“Credit for this major shift goes to the people of India, who on this day last year gave the most resounding mandate in thirty long years,” he said, adding: “16th May…this day last year great memories.”

The prime minister, who also shared images, said: “I bow to my sisters and brothers of India and congratulate them (perhaps even more) on this memorable day.”

“I once again express my gratitude to party colleagues, karyakartas and volunteers whose untiring efforts created history on 16th May 2014.”
