Mumbai: The Governor of Maharashtra K. Sankaranarayanan today (Thu. 18 July) launched the registrations for the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon and Half-Marathon at a small function at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai.
Mayor of Mumbai Sunil Prabhu, Event Ambassador John Abraham and representatives of various organisations supporting the event were present on the occasion.
Mr Vivek Singh, Joint Managing Director, Procam, the event organiser told the Governor that 40,000 people are expected to participate in the forthcoming Mumbai Marathon to be held on 19 January 2014.
He claimed that participation of increasing number of women in the Marathon has brought greater health consciousness in their families and society.
