Udupi: A teenager has been nabbed the Malpe police on Saturday, March 1 for making video of himself where he is seen shouting pro-Pakistan slogans.
The arrested is Srujan (18), a resident of Thottam, Malpe.
The information was given by a Malpe resident named Sachin to the Sub Inspector Madhu of Malpe station.
In the video, Srujan is seen shouting “Pakistan Zindabad” and threatening of planting a bomb at the Malpe beach.
Based on this, the Malpe police lodged a suo moto case and later informed Udupi Superintendent of Police Nisha James.
A team under the leadership of SP Nisha James along with Additional SP Kumarachandra, and DySP, Udupi Sub-division T R Jaishankar was formed, who later inspected each shop along the beach.
A shopkeeper named Anand from Nepal confirmed that he had received such a message, but had deleted immediately after he watched it.
He also said that it was sent by Srujan who stays near Bajal Bar and Restaurant of Thottam.
Based on this information the team then headed towards Srujan’s house and took him into custody. He resides with his parents and a sister.
The police have seized a mobile phone used in making the video and a towel that was used to cover his face in the video.
