Kundapur: A 20-year-old youth died and another was critically injured in a road accident after the rider lost control of the bike and hit the road divider at late night on September 24 at Trasi Beach near here.
The victim Fleming Mendonca, was a student of a private polytechnic at Manipal and a native of Tallur near here. The seriously injured Joyson Mendonca (18) is admitted to the Manipal Hospital. Both suffered serious injuries on their heads and Fleming died on the spot.
Both the youngsters were close relatives and were heading back home from Bhatkal. As per the sources, Fleming who was riding the bike lost control and crushed into the road divider. The Gangolli helpline team members rushed them to Manipal Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Fleming’s father was working abroad and had recently settled in his hometown and his mother is working in Israel. On September 6, Fleming had purchased the new KTM Duke bike. At the time of the accident both were not wearing helmets.
A case has been registered in Gangolli Police Station.
