Woman from Pangla killed in UK train accident

London/Udupi: A woman of Indian origin was killed in a train accident in the United Kingdom. The deceased, Stella Vaz (51), hailed from Shankarapura in Udupi district.

According to reports, a train hit Stella at South London on Wednesday, July 18. She was pronounced dead on the spot by the paramedics who arrived there after the incident. However, the law enforcement officials could ascertain her identity only on July 19.

Stella actively participated in the Konkani activities and was a member of the UK Konkans community. She leaves behind her husband and two children.

Sources said that the funeral will be held in the UK.
