Win people’s confidence, convince them to vote for party: KPCC Gen Secy

Udupi: KPCC General Secretary Manjunath Bhandary urged the Congress workers to win over the confidence of the people during the Mane Manege Congress programme and ensure that these visits finally materialse into votes for the party candidates

Addressing the party office bearers at Congress Bhavan at Bramagiri here on February 5, Bhandary said that the Congress workers should interact with people directly and give them details of the various projects and developmental works done in the state under the Siddaramaiah government while visiting their houses and win over the confidence of the people.

To ensure that the party comes to power again, he stressed on the need to make known to the voters, the party’s prime ideology and achievements. Also the workers should patiently listen to the problems and needs of the people and try to resolve the same after consulting party leaders”, said Bhandary.

He mentioned that the Udupi District was not new to him as he along with Oscar Fernandes has been touch with the people of the district since 1978. As Congress President Rahul Gandhi wants to strengthen the party from root level, he has allocated responsibilities to workers, he said adding that each party position had its responsibilities and the Congress workers were accountable for it.

Minority Commission President M A Gafoor, KPCC General Secretary G A Bava, District Congress Committee President Janardhan Tonse, KPCC Secretary Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, Women’s Congress District President Geetha Wagle, Udupi Block President Sathish Amin Padukere, leaders Dinesh Puthran, Naveenchandra Shetty, Veronica Cornelio, Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, Sarala Kanchan, Neere Krishna Shetty, Roshni Oliveira, Yathish Karkera, Syamala Bhandary, Manohar Karkera, Ganesh Kotian and others were present.

Narasimha Murthy, UDUDA President proposed a vote of thanks and Udupi District Congress Secretary Harish Kini compered the programme.
