Navunda : A ten year old boy has met a watery grave in a water filled quarry pit located adjacent to his house at Ulloor on Monday July 14.
His mother too jumped into the pit in order to save her son but in vain. The deceased has been identified as Abhishek, son of Kusuma and Rama couple.
His mother was however rescued by locals and admitted to the Kundapur Hospital. It is suspected that Abhishek might have slipped and fallen into the pit.
Byndoor Police have registered a case. Prakashchandra Shetty, former TP chief, Babu Shetty, ZP member, Mahendra Poojari, TP member, Babu Acharya, former president of Gram Panchayat and revenue officials visited the spot and discussed the possibility of providing compensation to the family.
