Udupi: The fun of rainy season, Kesaru Gadde (Games in slushy water) was organized near V4 greens by the Ganeshotsava Samiti at Alevoor village on Sunday 6 July.
The rural game was celebrated with full vigour by the youths. There were varieties of games for men and women categories such as tug-of-war, running race, race with gunny bags and forming human pyramids to break an earthen pot.
Actor Rakshit Shetty also joined the event. People from surrounding villages including Korangarapady, Manipura and Moodubelle too had come to participate in the events.
Jalesh Shetty, businessman and chief guest on the occasion said that rural games like Kesaru gadde should be promoted, the games indicates the importance of agriculture in the rural area.
The programme was inaugurated by Sridhar Acharya along with Govinda Shetty and Karunakar Shetty. The participants were treated with traditional rural meal of ganji, pickles, chutney, and huruli saaru.
Ashok Kumar Bhandary, Vice President Alevoor Gram Panchayat; Chanchal Kumar, President Sarvajanika Shree Ganeshothsava Samithi, Manohar Shetty, Govind Shetty, Karunakara shetty and others were present.
