Udupi in Green Zone, yet lockdown to continue till May 3 with minimum relaxation: DC

Udupi: Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha has informed that Udupi district, which is in green zone will continue to remain under lockdown till May 3, with minimum relaxation.

The DC, through a video conference stated that small shops have been allowed to open for economic activities in the green sector, however, Section 144 will be in place due to which gathering of more than five people will not be allowed.

All shops allowed to function will remain open from 7am to 11 am only.

Even events like weddings and funerals can be held with minimum gathering.

Using air conditioning system in any business set up is prohibited.

Temperature screening should be arranged at all workplace. Sanitizer should be used along with other precautionary measures like social distancing and face masks.

Industries and enterprises in rural areas may operate with minimum staff. The proprietors must provide pick up and drop facilities.

The provisions under the Shops and Establishments Act will strictly be introduced. Beauty parlours/Spa, Salons, jewellery shops, multi/single outlets will be shut. The hotels can be open to offer takeways only.

The factories will be opened in rural areas while agriculture, farming, horticulture and other essential activities like construction works will resume with local workers only. Workers from other places cannot be employed.

There is no provision to sell food on the streets.

Alcohol and gutka tobacco cannot be sold.
