Udupi: The district recorded 27 positive cases on a single day, on Thursday, May 21.
Out of the total positive cases, 23 people are from Maharashtra, three from Telangana and one from Kerala, who is receiving treatment in Manipal.
As per the video massage by Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesh, out of the total positive cases six are men, five are women and 16 children.
Udupi, for many weeks remained in Green Zone with three cases, all of whom were cured.
However, over the last one week, the district has been witnessing a spike and the Thursday’s cases is the biggest spike that the district has ever seen.
As on Wednesday evening, there were 21 cases of corona positives in Udupi district.
It is said, all the fresh cases have inter-state travel history, links with Maharastra, Telangana and Kerala.
