Udupi: The district police, under the leadership of Dr. Sanjeev Patil, Superintendent of Police, organised a programme on October 13 to create awareness against the consumption of illicit drugs especially by the students in the community.
A large number of students from various schools and colleges, along with police personnel, partook in walkathons, rallies and public meetings while also carrying placards saying “No to Drugs.”
The Udupi district police’s goal to campaign and create awareness among youngsters against drug addiction is truly an inspiring one. It is a commendable effort to bring to the forefront, the topic of drug addiction among youngsters, specifically students.
The district police will be making extensive efforts to create awareness about the consequences of drug abuse in the colleges of the district.
“Consumption of illicit drugs is a vicious cycle. It is easy to get addicted, but it is a struggle to give it up,” a student said.
