Udupi: "District Jayakarnataka unit will boycott forthcoming Lok Sabha election as a protest against both the state and central government's failure in solving sand crisis in the district," said Jayakarnataka Udupi district committee President Sathish Poojary Saligrama.
Addressing the protest meet at the War Memorial, Ajjarkad, near here on Tuesday, March 12, Sathish Poojary said that even though there were several protests against the sand crisis, both the state and central governments failed to solve the issue.
He said that since five years as Member of Parliament, Shobha Karandlaje has not done any developmental works in Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency. "If Shobha Karandlaje contests in the Lok Sabha election, Jayakarnataka members will not extend support to her. She has completely neglected the constituency and the people. She was never bothered to solve the sand crisis, track the missing fishermen missing or solve the Kota double murder case," said Sathish Poojary.
