Udupi: Taking note of the good service that the Udupi district government hospital has been doing, Minister for Health Shivananda S Patil has said that all steps will be taken to upgrade the hospital.
After visiting District Hospital at Ajjarkadu, here on Saturday, September 29, he said that upgrade of the hospital has been a long pending demand and the government will make sincere efforts to fulfil the same.
“There is no shortage of doctors in the hospital but without upgrading the hospital we cannot increase the number of doctors either,” he said adding that 400 doctors and 1600 nurses have been appointed in the state recently. New ambulances too will be brought in and Udupi district hospital too will be provided with one.
MLA Raghupathy Bhat, District Surgeon Dr. Madhusoodan Nayak, District Health and Family Welfare Department official Dr. Rohini, Dr. P V Bhandary and others were present.
