Udupi DC urges election officials to work diligently on Apr 18

Udupi: Deputy Commissioner of Udupi, Hephsiba Rani Korlapati, has urged the election officials to perform their duty very responsibly and with utmost caution in every polling booth on April 18.

DC Hephsiba Rani Korlapati, on Saturday, April 13, presided over a meeting with the election officials and staff members assigned to collect the VVPAT during the polling on April 18.

The deputy commissioner asked the officials to submit reports of their visit to polling centres. “All the sector officers should interact with officials in the polling booths and assess the arrangements made for voting. All the officials should collect each other’s contact and be in constant co-ordination. Officials should work according to the Election Commission guidelines,” she said.

“Officials should report every 2 hours to the authorities concerned with the VVPAT data. Data of the electorate including women, men, physically challenged should also be collected,” directed the DC.

Election officials and staff members were trained to fill the various columns of documentation in the polling booths during the meeting.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Vidya Kumari, Nodal Officer Chandrashekar Naik, assistant election officers of the district and tahsildars were present in the meeting.
