Udupi: Deputy Commissioner of Udupi district, Hephsiba Rani Korlapati has directed the officials concerned to ensure that the people of the district do not face any water crisis.
A meeting to address shortage of water was held at the DC’s office on Monday, April 22. Addressing the meeting, Hephsiba Rani said, “The gram panchayats and urban bodies are in a position to supply adequate water and the departments concerned should respond to the demands of the public. Any kind of negligence in this regard will be considered a serious issue.”
The DC has directed the officials to take steps for rain water harvesting in the district’s gram panchayats, hostels, government buildings and other public institutes.
Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Sindhu B Roopesh, Assistant Deputy Commissioner Vidya Kumari, ZP Chief Planning Officer Srinivas Rao and many others were present at the meeting.
