Udupi : The suspension order issued against former Udupi Town Police Station Police Sub-inspector Anantha Padmanabha has been revoked.

District Superintendent of Police Nisha James had suspended PSI Anantha Padmanabha in case of defamation of a group of youths for allegedly assaulting another group of youths in the Bhujanga Park. In connection with this case, it was said that the PSI did not inform the higher-ups about the sensitive case. The SP had also ordered the suspension of Police Head Constable Jeevan along with PSI Ananthapadmanabha on November 2.

As per the sources, Ananthapadmanabha has now been transferred to the district crime intelligence bureau (DCIB) which is in the District Superintendent office at Bannanje. Head Constable Jeevan continues to remain under suspension.

There was tremendous pressure to revoke the suspension order of the PSI. MLA Raghupathy Bhat, former minister Pramod Madhwaraj and others too had demanded the withdrawal of the order.
