Kundapur: Ranil Wickremesinghe, Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, visited the Shri Mookambika Temple in Kollur near here on Friday, July 26.
Ranil Wickremesinghe arrived at the Mangaluru International Airport at 8.40 AM today. He was supposed to fly in a helicopter from Mangaluru International Airport to Kollur, but due to bad weather, he took the road to Kollur. High police security was provided to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe throughout the travel from Mangaluru to Kollur.
The Udupi district administration had restrained the entry of other devotees to Kollur temple from 9 AM to 2.30 PM for security reasons.
The Sri Lanka prime minister’s visit to India is said to be for private purposes. Hence, the district administration restricted the media persons from taking photos or videos.
As per his private schedules, he will proceed to Bekal in Kasargod the district and halt there tonight. He will return to Sri Lanka after making special offerings at Sri Subramanya Temple in Kumbla’s Bela.
