Udupi: The Students Islamic Organization of India (SIO), Karnataka Zone has launched its year long campaign on the theme “Many Religions, One India”.
Addressing a news conference, Jishan Akhil, Campus Secretary of SIO Karnataka said that as a part of the campaign, an Inter – religious Conference will be held on 16th December at Town Hall, Ajjarkad, here at 3 pm, which will be attended by SIO National President Nahas Mala and other dignitaries.
One faith of brotherhood and unity in diversity has been one of the great characteristic of our nation which has bound people of all religions together in one bond of humanity, he said adding that the intention of the campaign is to nurture communal harmony, peace and brotherhood in India.
He said that the SIO has held several programmes for communal harmony such as bicycle Jatha, Marathon, Mohalla street meetings, Corner meetings, house to house visits, Campus Lectures’, Speeches, Seminars, poster exhibition, different competitions and others.
