Udupi : Shobha Karandlaje, Udupi Chikkamagluru Member of Parliament advised youth hailing from this district to take up industry-relevant skill training, which will help them in securing a better livelihood.
In her inaugural address, after inaugurating the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra at Reliance Trends Building, Laxmindra Nagar, Udupi Manipal Road, here on Tuesday, February 13 Karandlaje said that in order to get employment and livelihood for both the highly educated as also those who are less educated youths, Modi government introduced Pradhan Mantri Skilled development project (PMKVY). "The PMKVY is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship with the objective of getting employment for our youth," she said.
There will be shortage of employment oppurtunities for those who may have pursued ITI, stitching, computer coursesetc. Even after graduation, it is often difficult to get employment, due to lack of the requisite skills. In order to sort out this problem, the central government introduced the PMKVY project all over the country. The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra not only gives training and education but also provides the employment according the merit of the students," she said adding that students from this part of the area should take advantage of this Kendra.
