Udupi: Mourning the death of Shiroor Math Seer Lakshmivaratheertha Swamiji, Minister UT Khader said that he has not come as a representative of the government but, was present because of the personal equation he shared with the seer.

Speaking to media persons at the Shiroor Math, Shiroor village near Hiriadka on Friday, July 20, U T Khader said that the seer treated him like his own brother and hence he was obliged to be present to pay his respects.

With regard to the high-level probe into the case, he said that he has not yet discussed the issue with the CM, but the government will take the required step when the need arises.

Meanwhile, UTK refused to comment on the stand taken by the Ashtamath seers post the demise of the Shiroor seer.
