Udupi: Name of a certain Ramya Shetty is being linked to the mysterious death case of Shiroor seer and now as per sources the police foiled her bid to escape.

It is said that Shetty, who came as personal help to the seer about six months ago had grown into having undisputed say in his day to day life and decisions. With his death, suspicion pinpointed at her for it is believed that Shetty used to ferry food for the seer, who is suspected to have died of poisoning.

However, with several rumours making rounds it is learnt that Shetty tried to escape with three women but was nabbed by Belthangady police near Aladangadi Sathyadevata temple.

It is said that the Udupi police passed on the information on Shetty to their Belthangady counterparts and promptly Venoor police nabbed three women clad in burkha.

It is said that the car in which Shetty was travelling came from Chikkamagaluru and when it reached Sathyadevata Temple at Aladangadi the tyre of the car punctured. The occupants waited when the tyre was being set right and meanwhile, a lady walked to a nearby shop and purchased eatables. By then, Venoor police reached the spot and on contacting Karkala police, they were told that it is the same car in which the suspected Ramya Shetty was travelling.

When the police tried to confiscate the car key, an altercation broke out between the driver of the car and the cops. Three burkha-clad women were seated in the car. The police had left no scope for them to escape. The four including the driver were reportedly taken to Udupi and the car has been seized by Venoor police.
