Kaup: Owing to the heavy rains and flood-like conditions at Kambala Katte in Moodubettu village, Kapou Taluk, relatives of an elderly deceased woman had no recourse but to take her body on a floating stretcher for cremation purposes.
The woman, Sesi Poojarthi (98) had passed away on Sunday morning. Since the area and its surroundings were inundated with water, the relatives tied rubber tubes to a stretcher and used the same to ferry her body to the cremation ground at Katapadi Jalligudde located some 500 meters from their place.
