Udupi: A gang of three unidentified men hacked a recreation club owner to death in Manipal, here on Sunday, July 29.
The deceased has been identified as Guruprasad Bhat (45) resident of Puttur in Udupi. The miscreants who came in a Maruthi Omni car barged into his recreation club in ‘7th Heaven’ building in Manipal, attacked Guruprasad with lethal weapons and fled from the spot.
Though Guruprasad was rushed to a hospital he died.
According to the sources, a few years ago Guruprasad was running a tabloid ‘Sathya’ but he incurred losses. He had started the club after winding up the tabloid only four months ago.
