3-day Intl Beach Wine Festival in Malpe from Jan 18
Udupi: The District Administration, State Horticulture Department, State Excise Department, Tourism Department, Karnataka Wine Board and Malpe Beach Development Authority will be jointly organising a three-day 'International Beach Wine Festival' from January 18 to 20 at Malpe Beach, Udupi.
Extensive precautionary measures taken to check monkey fever: DC
Udupi: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Priyanka Mary Francis, on Monday, January 14, said that there has not been any case of monkey fever in Udupi district so far, but extensive precautionary measures have been taken to prevent the spreading of the disease in the district.
Parked car bursts into flames after owner starts engine
Udupi: In an unfortunate incident, a fire broke out inside a parked car, causing huge losses to the owner. The car was reportedly parked outside the Geethanjali Silks Cloth shop here on Sunday, January 13 evening. No one was injured in the incident.

Monkey fever scare grips Udupi, Shivamogga
Udupi: The death toll of monkeys in different parts of Udupi district has shot up to eight since the past one week. Latest, a monkey was found dead near Hirgana villages of Karkala in the district. Two days ago, carcasses of four monkeys were found in Siddapur, Hosangadi and Shiroor villages in Kundapur taluk. The increasing instances of monkey deaths have left the residents worried.
"Kyasanur Forest Disease" scare spreads to Udupi district
Udupi: State health department alerted the Udupi district administration on the scare of Kyasanur Forest Disease (KFD), which is popularly called as the Monkey Fever, following the recovery of dead bodies of monkeys in the district forest areas.
