Udupi : The SC/ST district unit protested against BJP leader and former CM Jagadish Shettar here on July 2.
Shettar had opposed a scheme introduced by Siddaramaiah govt to provide additional 2 rupees to Dalits, who produce and supply milk.
Speaking on the occasion Congress leader Janardhan Bhandarkar said that whenever BJP introduced the scheme it was projected as upliftment of the community but when the Congress does, it becomes humiliation.
The protesters also demanded the arrest of Shettar for having anti-dalit comments.
Yuvraj, CMC president, SC/ST district unit Congress president Ganesh, Amruth Shenoy, Habeeb Ali, Kiran Kumar, Ramesh Kanchan and others were present.
