Pramod Madhwaraj visits dengue affected areas in Udupi

Udupi: District in-charge Minister Pramod Madhwaraj visited dengue affected areas in Hanumanth Nagar of Nittur ward of Udupi Municipality Council on Saturday, July 8.

During the visit, the Minister inquired about 132 cases confirmed as dengue in Hanumanth Nagar. The minister along with district health officials and municipal officials asked the people of the area to use mosquito nets and to keep the area clean.

During minister’s visit, Dr. Nagarathna Taluk health official said that since May 2017, there were 52 suspected dengue cases. She said that all the houses were provided with mosquito nets. All precautionary measures were taken to avoid spreading of dengue.

Pramod Madhwaraj said that the officials’ work should be appreciated by media. “There should be more awareness in this regard. The officials have taken preventive measures by fogging and cleaning drains. The team of campaign workers will visit every house ones a week to spread the awareness,” he said.

Meenakshi Madhav Bannage President of Udupi CMC, Manjunathaiah Municipal Commissioner, Nittur Ward councilor Rakshitha Balakrishna Shetty, District Health Official Dr. Rohini, District communicable diseases control official Dr. Pramanand, Municipal Health officials and other officials were present.
