Political, religious leaders pay last respects to late MLA Gopal Bhandary

Karkala: A large number of people and various political and religious leaders paid their last respects to Karkala MLA, Gopal Bhandary who passed away on Thursday, July 4 from a massive cardiac arrest while travelling from Bengaluru to Mangaluru.

On Friday, July 5, his body was brought to the Rejeev Bhavan, Karkala where scores of people and leaders of various political parties, various associations paid their last respects to th deceased leader.

District in-charge minister Dr. Jayamala offered a wreath and on behalf of the state government, paid her respects.

Political leaders like Veerappa Moily, Pramod Madhwaraj, Pratap Chandra Shetty, Halady Srinivas Shetty, Sunil Kumar, Mattar Rathnakar Hegde, Raghupathy Bhat, Bishop Most Rev Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Very Rev Fr. Joswey Fernandes, Shakunthala Shetty, Ramanath Rai, Janardhan Thonse and other leaders were present.

The funeral was held with state honours in Hebri.
