Udupi: The petrol and diesel prices have seen a steady rise over the past few weeks, causing a lot of people to worry about its effect on their normal lives. In this regard, the National Students Union of India, Udupi district has demanded that the Union Government roll back the hike on fuel prices.

A press release issued by district president Christan D’Almeida, has stated that every day, the Central Government is increasing the price of petrol. The sharp increase in prices of petroleum products is a “result of the Centre’s anti-people policy”, the release said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had assured the people that the future would be bright if they voted for the BJP candidates in the Lok Sabha elections… the future of the country will be bleak if the Centre continues to take decisions that affect the people, the release said.

Stating that the slogan “Janta Maaf Nahi Karegi” used by Modi during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, would backfire on him in the upcoming elections the release said that though the people blindly believed in Modi’s promises during the last Parliamentary polls and voted for him, they have now realised that it was all false.
