Udupi: No other political party that was formed, can defeat the Congress. The Congress lost in the previous elections due to internal problems but, it will surely win in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, said Dr Jayamala, district in-charge Minister and State Minister for Women and Child Development.
She was addressing a gathering at an interaction with the Congress party workers at the Congress Bhavan near Nairkere, Brahmagiri here on Sunday, August 5. Dr. Jayamala said the party is proud and satisfied that there wasn't a single mole on the Siddaramaih-led government. "There were plenty of developmental works and various schemes which has earned the Congress a lot of respect even in defeat," she said adding that the party workers should be appreciated for their tireless efforts and that she had tremendous respect for them.
We need development, peace and prosperity among the people of the state. We are all united for the Congress party and the people. I shall work with the confidence of the people at large. The welfare of the people should be important, she said.
Before addressing the party workers at the Congress Bhavan, Dr. Jayamala, as part of her visit to the district, visited the Sri Krishna temple and met Paryaya Palimar Swamiji in Sri Krishna temple.
Janardhan Thonse, District Congress Committee President, former district in-charge minister Pramod Madhwaraj, former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, MLC Pratapchandra Shetty and former MLA Gopala Bhandary also spoke during the occasion.
G. A Mohideen, Devparasad Shetty, Amrith Shenoy, Vishwas Amin, all block presidents, other leaders and a large number of Congress party workers were present.
