Udupi: Amidst media reports that a couple of persons have been detained in connection to Shiroor seer death case, Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbargi said that the reports are far from truth.
Speaking to media persons after the visit of Kemaru Swami and Vajradehi Swami, the SP said that contrary to rumours of arrests, in connection to Shiroor seer’s death that are making rounds, no arrests have taken place so far. He specifically urged the media to refrain from making such news articles which can affect the investigations.
The SP said that the seer was first admitted to Gandhi Hospital on July 17 and when his health deteriorated, he was taken to KMC hospital on July 18. After a complaint filed by deceased seer’s brother Lathavya Acharya, the police investigations began. Brahmavar Circle Inspector Srikanth will lead the investigation under the guidance of Belliyappa, DySP, Karkala, he said.
The SP further said that some parts of the Shiroor Moola Math and Shiroor Math in Car Street, Udupi have been seized, however, care has been taken to make sure daily Pooja and rituals are not disturbed.
