Udupi: Shobha Karandlaje, Member of Parliament from Udupi-Chikkamagalur constituency has written an appeal to External Affairs Minister Dr. Subramanya Jaishankar P to fulfill Karnataka’s long standing demand for United States of America Consulate office in Bengaluru.
In her letter, she says, “I would like to draw your kind attention towards the problem faced by the people of Karnataka state for the long standing demand for US Consulate General office in Bengaluru. Though the US government has set up a virtual US Consulate for Bengaluru, it is not serving the purpose. The people of Karnataka have to travel to Chennai or Hyderabad to get a visa citing that the number of people visiting US was increasing.
Establishing US Consulate General office in Bengaluru will help a lot of people from Karnataka as well as nearby states, she said.
