Udupi: Congress leader D. K. Shivakumar is not the first politician to have been raided by Enforcement Directorate, said Mattar Rathnakar Hegde, District President of Bharatiya Janata Party.
Addressing a press conference at BJP district office, Kadiyali on Saturday, September 7, Mattar Rathnakar Hegde said that unaccounted wealth running to several crores were found stashed at the residence of DK Shi during the IT raid. Hence, the case has now gone to the ED.
"Doing wrong things and then blaming Narendra Modi is not justified," he said adding that the newly appointed state president of BJP, Nalin Kumar Kateel will be arriving at Udupi on September 10. A grand felicitation programme will be held in honour of the newly appointed state president on September 10 at Sheshashayana Hall, Kidiyoor Hotel Udupi.
Mattar said that a grand welcome would be extended to Nalin Kumar Kateel on his arrival at the district border at Hejamady toll gate. Later, a vehicular rally will be taken out from Jodukatte, near Big Bazar here and grand procession will be organized from Jodukatte to Kidiyoor Hotel.
Rathnakar Hegde said that Nalin Kumar Kateel became the BJP state president and Kota Srinivas Poojary became the minister for Mujarai, ports and fisheries. "We have hope from both of them to make honest efforts towards the development of twin districts," he said.
Shreesha Nayak, district president of BJP Yuva Morcha, Shivakumar Ambalpady joint spokesperson, Girish Anchan and Akshith Shetty councillors of Udupi CMC were present at the press meet.
