Leopard in Udupi finally caught, residents relieved

Udupi: A leopard that had spread terror in Pernakila and nearby areas for several days was finally caught in Gundupade in the land belonging to one Philomena Pinto.
The forest department had placed a cage in front of the residence of Philomana Pinto at Gundupade near pernakila. Ganapathi Naik, Forest officer led the operation to take the leopard back to the forest. The leopard was found trapped in the cage on Friday, January 27 morning and was safely taken into the deep forests and released.

After several complaints from the villagers about the citing of two leopards in Pernakila area, the forest officials had taken measures to catch them and now succeeded in capturing one of them.
