Shirva (Udupi district): In a disgraceful incident, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Honorary President of the Udupi district unit was arrested by police for stalking a married woman. The arrest happened after the accused, Santhosh Shetty fell into a trap laid by the distressed woman and her husband.
Shetty used to misbehave with a particular woman, sending her lewd messages, pressurising her to abandon her husband. The lady, who did not entertain such advances of Shetty, told her husband about the same and on Sunday, the couple decided to catch Shetty red-handed.
Making use of Shetty’s persistent requests to ‘accompany’ him, the lady invited Shetty to her fancy store in Shirva. Upon his arrival, the couple caught Shetty and then handed him over to the police. A video of Shetty hanging his face in shame, standing next to the lady and her husband is being circulated on WhatsApp.
The lady, who slaps Shetty publicly for his advances, then asks the police to take him away. Her husband is seen requesting people to be alert so that such incidents do not happen again.
Shirva police have registered a case.
