Udupi: The district branch of the Janata Dal (Secular) celebrated the victory of its candidate Boje Gowda in the South-West Teacher’s Constituency at Udupi on June 13.
The party workers and leaders gathered at the Chittaranjan Circle here, distributed sweets and burst firecrackers.
Speaking on the occasion, District JDS President Yogish Shetty said that the victory in the elections is a sign of a new beginning for elections in the local bodies to be held in the coming days. Presently, under the leadership of Chief Minister Kumaraswamy, the JDS is ready to carry out various developmental works in the Udupi district. The win in the MLC election would be advantageous in getting a majority in the coming CMC elections as well as Lok Sabha election in the Udupi district, he said.
Shetty congratulated all the teachers for supporting Boje Gowda in the MLC election.
District level JDS leaders and workers were present during the victory celebrations in Udupi.
