Janmashtami celebrations end with Vittal Pindi procession

Udupi: The culmination of the two-day long Janmashtami celebrations ended with the Vittal Pindi procession which started from the entrance of Sri Krishna Temple here on Sunday. Thousands of devotees witnessed the procession.

The procession of the golden chariot and Navrathna Chariot was led by the band and Nadaswaram by various troops, as the ‘huli vesha’ (tiger dancers) and religious troupes danced in front of the golden chariot thus adding glory to the situation.

The Paryaya seer, Shri Vidyavallabha Theertha Swamiji of Kaniyoor mutt immersed the clay idol from golden chariot and dropped it in ‘Madhwa Sarovara’ as the festival came to an end.

Tight security was arranged by Annamalai, SP who visited the premises personally.

As a special attraction bike stunts by team INFINITIZ were organized by Shiroor Mutt Swamiji at theRajyangana parking lot in the afternoon. 7 stunt men demonstrated their talent using 5 bikes.

A physically handicapped troop performed Huli vesha, Theyyam Costume, and Ramanji, one of the old students of MGM College attracted the masses during the procession.
