Investors protest, fearing risk in a saving scheme

Udupi: Speculations stating that the Agri Gold private limited gold company, under a saving scheme has not been making payments back to the investors created a fury among the people endowed in the scheme on Monday June 30.

More than 30,000 protestors, who have invested crores of money in the scheme gathered in front of the Agri Gold office at Raj tower and shouted against the official

According to the sources, agents for the scheme made weekly as well as monthly payment. The collection of the money would reach upto 20,000 to 10 lac per month.

However it is alleged that for the past 7 to 8 months the company was making delay in the payment and was not responding to the customers.

Fearing loss the investors fought with the officials and agents inside the office. A chaos was created and the police was called in to resort the situation.

The head office of the company is situated at Vijayavada which is in Andra Pradesh and due to the Telangana Issue the company could not provide the funds to the investors on time, the officials reasoned.

However they assured that the company will pay back the money within 15 days, compensation of 10% by the end of July.
