Hosmar residents demand stern action against disruptive forces

Karkala: At a peace meeting organised by the Police Department  here on Tuesday July 1, participants made a unanimous demand for stern and impartial action against some external forces, which they alleged were trying to disrupt peace and  cause communal tension. Public also complained against provocative flex banners being put up in public places, eve teasing and such other problems.

The emergency meeting was convened by the Police Department after attempts were made to disrupt peace over the issue of the removal of the Omkara flag put up at Hosmar Saraswathi Nagar.
Tahsildar Babu Devadiga and ASP Annamalai requested the public to immediately inform the police in case of unlawful activities and requested them to refrain from taking law into hands.

ASP Annamalai informed that vehicles will be checked in Hosmar from 8 pm to 10 pm. He also stated that steps would be taken to see that the night beat policemen sign a register maintained in  front of  some houses located in sensitive areas.Inform the police if you find any suspicious person, he requested.

Sujatha, President of Edu Gram Panchayat, Sundar, former president of Taluk Panchayat, GV Naikar, Circle Inspector,  Mahesh Bailur, Bhajrangdal leader, NC Mohammad and others were present.
