Fishing vessel stranded due to engine failure, rescued by Coast Guard

Udupi :The mechanised fishing vessel ‘Ashlesha’ was stranded off at Malpe coast due to engine failure on August 8.

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG), Mangalore official, Commandant Shri Rajindar Singh Saphal was informed about it.

He along with Indian Coast Guard ship “Savithribai Phule”immediately sailed from Mangalore to provide assistance.

Despite extremely rough weather experienced in the area with heavy wind and swells, ICGS reached the reported location and the fishing vessel was towed to the Malpe Fishing Harbour at 6.00pm yesterday

The fishing vessel ‘Ashlesha’ belongs to Shri Raghuram Giliyaru. The entire operation was carried out by the commandant T Ashish.
