First aid training to be imparted to policemen soon: SP

Udupi: A life saving first aid training was held at Red Cross Bhavan, Ajjarkad, Udupi on Wednesday, October 25.

Inaugurating the workshop, Superintendent of Police Dr Sanjeev Patil said that road accidents and unnatural deaths are comparitively high in the district and hence such first aid training come as a huge blessing during emergencies.

“First aid knowledge is important and steps must be taken to include them in textbooks from schools. Such workshop must be held for government employees,” he said adding that he would make sure that first aid training is imparted to policemen soon. Dr. Umesh Prabhu, Chairman of Indian Red Cross Society, Udupi unit presided over the programme. Basrur Rajeev Shetty, Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, Karnataka State was the chief guest.

Dr. Ashok Kumar Y G, Deputy Chairman of Indian Red Cross Society, Udupi unit, Dr. Ramachandra Kamath, Treasurer, G.C. Janardhan Secretary were present on the dais.

During the occasion Dr. Sanjeev M Patil was felicitated by the chief guest Basrur Rajeev Shetty and other office-bearers.
