Udupi: The district police have made elaborate security arrangements for the Dharma Sansad and Hindu Samajotsava scheduled to be held in Udupi between November 24-26.
Speaking to media persons here, Dr. Sanjeev M Patil, District Superintendent of Police on Wednesday said that around 2,000 policemen from Udupi district and 1400 policemen from other districts will be made available during the said programme. “Our intention is to maintain strict law and order situation during the Dharma Sansad,” he added.
Further he informed that as many as 4 ASP’s, 12 DySP’s and 105 PSI’s will be on duty and services of Home Guards, KSRP and DAR platoons too will be utilised to help with the security arrangements during the occasion.
Video coverage of the programme will be made in the most-sensitive areas and the police will conduct check posts across the district, he said.
A meeting was held by the police with the organizers to discuss the security issues? involved?. Meanwhile fire and emergency services, first aid ambulances and other services will also be made available during all three days of the occasion.
