Udupi: Ramesh Jarkiholi, the state minister for Sports and Municipal Administration met with a delegation led by Udupi MLA K Raghupati Bhat on Friday, November 23.
The delegation has asked the minister to use the relevant grants sanctioned by the government to build a fishing jetty inside the port area of Kota.
Responding positively to this, Jarkiholi promised to take steps to meet their demands and arrange for a meeting by next week with the officials concerned.
This delegation comprised of Malpe Fishermen’s Association President Satish Kunder, All India Fishermen’s Association General Secretary Dayanand K Suvarna, Chairman of Deep Sea Fishing Corporation Kishore D Suvarna, Malpe Fishermen’s Association General Secretary Gopal R K, Fish Merchants Association General Secretary Ratnakar Salian and members Karunakar Salian, Santosh Salian and District President of Mogaveera Youth Organisation Vinay Karkera among other members.
