Udupi: Following rumours that the debris of the missing deep sea trawler “Suvarna Tribhuja” has been found at Malwan region in Maharastra, SP Laxman Nimbargi said that the debris found is not of the missing boat.
Speaking to reporters after a phone-in programme, the SP said that the navy had used high-tech equipment to scan for the submerged object at the location where the debris was found and it has confirmed that a two meters long object seems grounded there, which can be a rock. It cannot be the missing boat, which was 23 meters long.
The SP said that other than fish storage boxes, no parts of the mysteriously missing deep sea boat has been found. The roof of a cabin had been found, but the fishermen assured that it did not belong to the missing boat.
“Karwar SP informed us that further investigation is being carried in connection to it by the coast guard,” he said.
