Udupi: Deputy Commissioner of the Udupi district Hephsiba Rani Korlapari, along with Superintendent of Police Nisha James and other officials, inspected the road widening work between Udupi and Manipal on the National Highway 169A here on Tuesday, May 7.
The DC directed the officers of the Department of National Highways to construct drains on either side of the highway and take up road safety measures along the stretch prior to the commencement of the monsoon season.
The Udupi-Manipal stretch is being concretised by the Department of Highways and connects Malpe via Udupi-Manipal and Tirthahalli town in the Shivamogga district.
