Udupi: The Congress party is on the verge of collapse today and it cannot stand up in any state, said Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai, calling them a “sinking ship”.
Addressing a party meeting at the Udupi district BJP office on Friday, September 27, Basavaraj Bommai said, “Politics is not permanent. The present state of the Congress party is a clear example of that. When there is a strong opposition, it is a challenge to work and when the opposition is weak, our moral responsibility increases.”
“Deendayal Upadhyay, Vajpayee and L K Advani did not become politicians for power. They were politicians for the people and the country. Today, the BJP is in a position to take power in the entire country through that politics. Whatever issues and ideals we believe in, we have the moral responsibility to implement them once we come to power,” he added.
Udupi MLA Raghupati Bhat, Sunil Kumar, Lalaji R Mendon, B M Sukumar Shetty, BJP district president Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde, party leaders Dinakar Babu, Kuthyaru Naveen Shetty, Yashpal Suvarna, Udayakumar Shetty, Prabhakar Poojary, Sandhya Ramesh, Kuiladi Suresh Nayak and others were present.
