Christian brethren come over to Udupi Masjid with Eid-ul-Fitr greetings!

Udupi: Eid-ul Fitr celebration in Udupi truly gave out the message of peace, harmony and mutual trust as the members of the Catholic Sabha of the diocese came over to Udupi Jamia Masjid in the city and greeted the Muslim brethren on the auspicious day. The diocese members also handed over saplings to Muslim brethren.

Speaking to newskarnataka.com, Udupi Pradesh Spiritual Director Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves said that it is very important that the people from various faith mix with each other, learn about their cultures and become a part of their celebrations so as to safeguard harmony in the society.

Masjid Member Mohammed Maula said that the Christian brethren have taken a very big step towards fostering love, respect and peace in the world. “This was needed. I pray that terrorism and violence are rooted out of this world and there is only peace and harmony prevailing,” he said.

Masjid head Maulana Rashid Ahmed Nadvi was felicitated by Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves.

Catholic Sabha Udupi President Alwyn Quadros, Secretary Santhosh Cornelio and other office-bearers, Masjid Committee President Syed Yaseen, Secretary Khaleel Ahmed among others were present.

In Mangaluru, a group of Muslims went about distributing 1000 sweet boxes to non-Muslims on Eid to spread the message of peace and love.
